Longford defender Colm P Smyth looks set to miss the All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Down through injury.

The sides are set to meet at Pairc Esler on Saturday week in the round 1B clash, but Longford manager Denis Connerton is almost certainly planning without Smyth.

The Abbeylara clubman suffered a jaw injury and he is set to be sidelined for a number of weeks.

Otherwise, Longford look set to have a full strength squad to choose from as they aim to progress in the qualifiers.

Down are seeking their first competitive win in over 14 months and Longford will head north in a confident mood on Saturday week.
