Dromard Club Notes

February 01, 2016

Sympathy: Dromard GAA would like to extend its sympathy to Mary Kiernan, Ballyduffy, and the extended Kiernan, Murtagh and Fagan families on the sad passing last week of Mary's mother, Annie Murtagh Cloncullen, Ballymahon. The club would also like to express its sympathy to Therese McManus (nee Donohoe) formerly Crott, on the passing of her husband Frank McManus, London and formerly Co. Monaghan.

National League: Hard luck to Francis McGee and the Longford senior footballers on their defeat to Offaly in Tullamore, in a tough game played in very inclement conditions. With a home game against Limerick next weekend, this will be a good opportunity to collect two valuable league points.

Happy Birthday Bernie: The Senior Club would like to wish Bernie Green a very happy 70th birthday. Bernie had a fabulous party in the splendid surrounds of the newly renovated ballroom in the Breffni Arms Hotel recently, where many of his friends came over from the UK and there was also a huge turn out from the various section of the club, young and old, male and female to celebrate with Bernie. Bernie, who is the Chairman of the Ladies Club, has also been a huge help with the club Lotto which brings in funds for all three clubs, the Ladies Senior and Minor and Men's Senior and Minor.  Bernie very considerately donated all gifts on the night to SOSAD (an Irish organisation helping those dealing with suicide) and to Dromard Ladies GAA. A sincere thank you Bernie for all the work that you do for the club and a very happy birthday to you!
