Quinn facing hectic 24 hours

Killoe and Longford star Mickey Quinn

Ireland manager Joe Kernan doesn't think playing two huge games in less than 24 hours for club and country will be a problem for Longford star Mickey Quinn.

The former Essendon player will line out against Australia in the International Rules Test match on Saturday evening week before playing a Leinster club SFC semi-final for Emmet Og Killoe against Portlaoise the following afternoon.

"Mickey will play, there's no problem. He has been a breath of fresh air," Kernan said at the announcement of his 23-man squad yesterday.

The squad also includes Monaghan brothers Darren and Kieran Hughes - the latter is on the standby list - and Tyrone All Star Mattie Donnelly, despite their clubs being still involved in the Ulster club SFC. Indeed, the Hughes' will come face to face with Donnelly when Scotstown meet Trillick for a place in the Ulster final on Sunday.
