Defending champions remain on course

Killoe and Longford star Mickey Quinn

Despite having a mediocre start to the senior football championship, Killoe Emmet Og are gathering momentum ahead of this weekend's semi-final.

Once again, they will face Dromard in the penultimate stage of the campaign and even though they struggled against Mullinalaghta in the quarterfinal, Killoe are still many people's favourites for the title.

Dromard will be happy to go in as underdogs, although their quarterfinal replay win over Longford Slashers showed that they are able to dig deep when need be.

If Dromard are to win this then they will have to curb the influence of the likes of Michael Quinn and the McCormack brothers Sean and Padraig to name just a few.

However, Killoe have quality all over the pitch and it is highly likely that this will be a close contest between two of the best sides in the county.
