Annual Lotto Subscription: The following Panels are now up and running, and in addition to their own subscription,  they are selling the following additional number of annual subscriptions, Seniors Panel +3, Ladies +1, Juniors +1, Minors just their own subscription. Please support these teams and at the same time avail of 52 chances of winning.   As you probably know the lotto is the primary source of income for the club, it maintains all of the facilities and up to 14 teams. All of these excellent amenities are in-turn available to the community, young and old, male and female. All of the money received is spent directly on the facilities and teams. At a cost of less than €2 per week, you can support all of this for your community; while at the same time have 52 weekly opportunities to win the annual lotto,  which currently stands at approx. €7000.  Over the past 4 years the lotto has paid out an average of €12,700 each year, to winners all with a small 4 square mile area, you could be next!  If you would prefer to pay by cash or cheque contact any of these players or any officer. Lotto Draw:  There was no jackpot winner this week. The numbers drawn were:  2, 13, 21, 28. The winners of the €20 draw prize were Brian Reilly, Kiltycon and Castleknock, Betty Reilly, Smear, Thomas Gilligan, and Kevin Sheridan, Aughaga. The sellers prize was won by  Casey's Pub in Newtownforbes. Next week's jackpot stands at €7,000. Draws are made in the Club House on Monday nights at 8:50pm, all welcome and encouraged to attend.

Sympathy: The club would like to express our sympathies to Mary Jo and the extended Conboy family, and to Sean Dalton and his extended family on the death of their sister Phyllis Simone (Nee Dalton) in Trenton, New Jersey, USA, and formerly of Cornakelly. The club would also like to extends it's sympathy to the extended family of James Reynolds, Newtownforbes and formerly of Cammagh Hill, Ballinamuck. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the family, relatives and friends of Larry and Martina Hayes who were so tragically killed in Tunisia last Friday, and with the family of Lorna Carty of Robinstown, Co. Meath who lost her life in the same atrocity, all of whom had strong GAA connections. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

U14 Team's Big Win in League Final: St. Francis 5-2 V 2-10 Wolfe Tones Óg. ( Video will be included in this week's  Lotto Newsletter). We are U14 League Champions after an excellent, hard fought win against a gallant Mostrim team, in Párc Na Gael on Tuesday last. This St. Francis Dromard U14 team are a well-balanced outfit and play an excellent brand of football. With a top class goalkeeper in Ollie Duffy, who brought off a wonderful save in the first few minutes to keep his side in touch, as Mostrim got off to a flying start of 3 points to no score. A flowing attack from Mostrim was intercepted by Stephen Donohoe, who had an excellent game at corner back, his pass to Oisin O'Toole set up an attack with Garath O'Hara finding Aaron Darcy on the wing. An inch perfect pass found the wonderful Aaron Farrell who weaved his way past a number of defenders and hit the back of the net to get Dromard off the mark. Mostrim hit a few points before Aaron Farrell stroked over a point after some good work from Fionn Hourican and Danial Conboy. A sweeping move from Conor McGarahan, Karl McNerney and Ciaran Murphy found the same Aaron Farrell on his own in from of goal and of course there was going to be only one result. Mostrim responded with an excellent goal of their own to bring the half-time score to Mostrim 1-6 to Dromard 2-1. The second half started with Mostrim taking the early advantage with a goal and a few points, it looked like Dromard had no answer, but this young Dromard team does not do panic. With Conor McGarahan moving to center half forward and Aaron Darcy moving to center half back, the team seemed to click. The introduction of Callum McEntire for the excellent Joshua Gray also freshened up the forward line. The backline of Fionn Hourican, Liam Donohoe and Stephen Donohoe were excellent and froze out the Mostrim attack. RThe excellent Oisin O'Toole, Aaron Darcy and Jason Grimes drove forward and used the ball well. Garath O'Hara and Karl McNerney were excellent against a very strong Mostrim pair. Calum McEnire won an excellent ball, turned and played Conor McGarahan down the line. Conor took on his opponent and drove the ball to the back of the net. Karl McNerney won a kick out, went on a solo run before finding the back of Mostrim goal. Dromard were now going into top gear and another sweeping move found Ciaran Murphy in front of goal and he made no mistake. Mostrim struck back with a point, but a long range score from Karl McNerney ensured victory for Dromard. The forward line of Danial Conboy, who had a powerful game, Conor McGarahan, Aaron Farral, Joshua Gray, Ciaran Murphy and Matt Duffy were always dangerous. Subs: Cian Gray (injured), Conal Pailn, Shane Grimes, Cathal Relly, Jamie Conboy, Ryan O'Connor were always ready for the call. Of course, any of them could have come in at any stage as needed. Mostrim are an excellent team and fought hard all the way. The final score St. Francis Dromard 5-2, Mostrim 2-10. Well done to all involved especially the management team of Peter Darcy, Paul Hourican, Joe Murphy and Ali McGarahan. Also to Danny O'Toole who helped out the team. Also to the Minor club for providing fruit and refreshments for both teams at the end of the game, and the facilities staff who had the grounds in really excellent shape.

Longford Minors: Well done to the Longford Minors on their great victory over Meath on Saturday last in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, 1-09 to 0-08. It is a great achievement for Longford to reach another Leinster Championship Final at U18 grade. The now face Kildare in the Leinster Final which is a curtain raiser to the Leinster Senior Championship Final between Westmeath and Dublin, and while we are at it we should also say well done to neighbours Westmeath in in making it to the Leinster Final, what a second half display, we will be with you on the big day.

Division 3:  Our Division 3 team had their first game in a few months and when they played St Mary's, Granard, in Higginstiown on Saturday evening last. Although we didn't win it was a very good work out for the championship days ahead, and was a much improved performance especially considering that a number of players were unavailable through both work and holidays, but great to see some new faces out! After a shaky start, probably as a result of the long break, the team improved considerably as the game went on. With more match practice and training, this will be a very competitive side as the summer progresses.  There will probably be a game at home this Friday night the 3rd, in PNaGeal at 8:30pm, details of this and training will be communicated via text.

U10 Blitz Wednesday the 1st: There will be an U10 blitz in Killoe, tonight, Wednesday, at 7pm. Teams involved Killoe Og, St. Colmcille, and St. Francis' Dromard.

U12 Game Thursday the 2nd: We had a great win last week v Aughavas. There will be another U12 game tomorrow night in the Longford / Leitrim U12 Cross Border League Division 2 Cup Semi Finals. Pairc Na Gael; St Francis V Winner of Shannon Gaels V Annaduff.

U14's Championship Friday 3rd: Good luck to our gallant U14 team in the first round of the Championship this Friday evening in Ballymahon at 7:30pm, please support.

Longford Seniors this Saturday the 4th:  Best wishes to the Longford Senior team and to the Dromard lads on the Panel on Saturday evening with their difficult qualifier away to Clare in Cusack Park, Ennis, at 5pm.

Community Employment Scheme (formally FAS): We are now taking names (Male/Female) for places on the CE scheme in Dromard and Colmcille that are coming on stream later this year. You may qualify for participation on the CE scheme if you are over 25 year's old and receiving a qualifying payment from the Department of Social Protection for at least 1 year. You may also qualify if you have completed a TUS placement. Community Employment Schemes provides long-term unemployed with training and work experience through part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities. Club Texting:  To reduce costs and frequency of club text messages, please let the PRO or Secretary know at least 3 days before an event so that your message can be included with other messages. Lack of planning cost's, and is an annoyance to recipients. Plan ahead and try to get your notices in the Club Notes which in turn show up in the Club Lotto Newsletter, if they still need to be texted, they can be included in a weekly text saving costs. For organisations outside of the club, your text will need to be approved on a case by case basis, and if approved prepaid by credit card before delivery.

Sponsorship Coordination: In order to plan properly and avoid embarrassments, the various team mentors at all levels should ensure that the senior club Treasurer and Chairman are made aware before asking individuals or business for sponsorship. On that note, if there is anyone out there would be interested in sponsoring any amount towards any team or event we would be delighted to hear from you. Scheduling of Pitches: Reminder to various team coaches and officers, in order to make them aware and to avoid conflicts in scheduling the facilities, please first check with the facilities maintenance staff, Thomas 0874134636 or Jamsie Maguire 0876687751, regarding the availability of pitches and facilities, and give them adequate notice "before" planning challenge games etc.  Separately, very well done to Thomas and Jamsie and all involved, through your hard work and dedication the pitch and facilities were in top shape and looked excellent for the Under 14 final last week which greatly added to the occasion.

5k Walk: Longford GAA in Conjunction with its Health and Well Being Committee will host a 5k walk this Saturday,  July 4th, in Aid of the Samaritans. Commencing Pearse Park @ 8am via Bypass and Mall Route finishing in Pearse Park. Light breakfast served afterwards. Social event / at your own pace.  Registration €10, all proceeds to The Samaritans who are working Nationally with the GAA. The aim is to promote Health & Wellness. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Please support.
