Schools Champions: Dromard 4-6 Colehill 2-5: Pride of place this week goes to the victorious St Patrick's National School team. On Wednesday last, in a sunny but windy Pearse Park , Dromard captured the division two school championship for the second year in a row (there will be a video of the final available in this week's Newsletter for all those who are signed up). Dromard started at a blistering pace with Shane O Brien finding the back of the net after great work from his midfield partner Oisin O Toole. This was followed up by a Matt Duffy free as a result of great work from Ryan O Connor and Mikie Gormley. Colehill responded with a fine score from play to keep the match evenly balanced. With ten minutes gone Colehill broke through on goal but Cathal Reilly pulled off a fantastic save to keep the Dromard lads in the lead. Immediately from the kickout Daniel Conboy scored a point from play. With 17 minutes gone Alan Corcoran played a fantastic pass to Callum Mac Entire who shot low and hard past the Colehill keeper to register Dromard's second goal of the evening. Colehill tried hard  to get the ball up the field to their dangerous full forward line but excellent defending from Jason Grimes and James Brady made this an impossible feat.On 21 minutes Matt Duffy scored a goal directly from a free which was followed up by a Daniel Conboy point. The last score of the half was a well taken free from Colehill's lively centre forward. The half time score read Dromard 4-2 Colehill 0-2. Playing against a stiff breeze in the second half the Dromard lads dug deep.Within seconds Shane O brien had registered the first score of the second half following great persistence and tackling from Dromard's Centre back Fionn Hourican. Playing with a strong wind Colehill began to kick the ball long into their full forward line but Eoin Garvey and Stephen Donohoe defended gallantly on many occasions.Colehill registered two goals in quick succession but Dromard responded with a score of their own with Daniel Conboy once again raising the white flag.Colehill registered three points in a row to ensure the game would be tight entering the last ten minutes.Dromard's next score came from the boot of Callum MacEntire following great running and awareness from Joshua Gray to create the space in front of goal. The last score of the evening came from Matt Duffy after fantastic work firstly from Thomas Maguire to win the ball and then Christopher Grimes to win the 45 which resulted in the score. Congratulations to all the children involved on a fantastic achievement.Ollie Duffy collected the cup on behalf of the Dromard team. Thanks go to all the parents and supporters throughout the year for all their dedication and hard work. Thanks to Ms.Mary Farrell and Mr. Padraig Dennigan and all the staff members at the school, to Barry Kiernan for his sponsorship of socks and shorts and to the Dromard club and Moyne Cross stores for their sponsorship of refreshments after the game. The Dromard team lined was as follows: Cathal Reilly, Eoin Garvey, Ollie Duffy, Stephen Donohoe, Jason Grimes, Fionn Hourican, James Brady, Shane O Brien, Oisin O Toole, Ryan O Connor, Matt Duffy, Callum Mac Entire, Alan Corcoran, Mikie Gormley, Daniel Conboy, Christopher Grimes, Thomas Maguire, Joshua Gray. A special mention to Gavin Reilly and James Clarke who were unable to tog out on the evening but were integral members of the panel throughout the year

Reserve League 1: (Note: video of last week's senior game will be included within this week's members' Newsletter).
