Congratulations to the St Colmcilles N.S schoolgirl football team who defeated Colehill in the league final on Saturday last.

At the recent executive committe meeting votes of sympathy were passed for Mr Frankie Murphy Aughagreagh, Mrs Margaret McCarthy (nee Reilly) Leixlip, Mrs Eilleen O Reilly Abbeylara, Mrs Brigid Maguire Clonback. May they rest in peace.

The 2014 Parish League finished up last Sunday week with Team D winning the Cup Final 2:5 to 1:2 against Team A. The Shield final was won by

Team C who defeated Team B 2:5 to 1:6. Team A Captain Shea Farley accepted the cup on behalf of the team and management from our Minor captain Shane Gray with Nessa Farley accepting the Shield presented by juvenile captain Ruairi Harkin. Massive thanks to all who helped to organise the event this year: team managers, goalkeepers, parents, Kieran Collins for his excellent work as piper on the day leading the teams out onto the pitch to great applause. Thanks to all the supporters who turned out to make it a great day for the youngsters. Thanks to those who helped out with the refreshments and to Joe and Kathleen Murtagh for sponsoring the raffle hamper which was won by Adam Floody. Finally a big thank you to the players for making this a great sporting occasion to help finish up the underage season for 2014 for these age groups.
