The club held its second 5/10k run/walk on Saturday last starting from the cross and taking in several townlands before returning to Murtaghs Lounge for refreshments. Congratulations to all our participants particularly our category winners: 10k Female Michelle McGee (36:37), 10k Male Barry Sheil (37:21), 10k Juvenile Male Shane Grimes (57:31), 5k Female Helen Conefrey (26:59) (defending her title from 2013), 5k Male Darren Mulligan (20:52), 5k Juvenile Female Mya Murtagh (30:09), 5k Juvenile Male James Miney (21:44). Massive thanks to all volunteers who helped out on the day and before the event: stewards, our local Garda Yvonne Glacken, first aid, everybody who helped out with food for after the race, club executive members, and also Kathleen and Josie Murtagh for the use of their facilities on the day and on Saturday night. The 2014 Parish League got underway on Sunday last with our U10 & U12 girls and boys competing hard against each other in two entertaining games. Results Team A 1-7 Team B 0-9, Team C 3-3 Team D 1-4. No games scheduled for next Sunday due to County Final and U21 fixture.
