Jack Sheedy intends to stay on as Longford manager despite watching his side slump to a 17-point qualifier defeat to Tipperary today.

The former Dublin star's players only managed to engineer a paltry six points during the course of the 70 minutes but, afterwards, he insisted he would be sticking around for a second year at the helm.

The midlanders were a pale shadow of the side that sent Division 1 finalists Derry packing on a scoreline of 2-16 to 2-14 last time out.
