Preview: All-Ireland SFC qualifier: Tipperary v Longford

Longford's reward for their first round heroics against Derry in Celtic Park is a trip to Semple Stadium to take on Tipperary this Saturday.

Jack Sheedy and his players tore up the form-book to shock the Oak Leaf County on a scoreline of 2-16 to 2-14 but the former Dublin star is advising caution ahead of their date with the Premier County.

"They (Tipperary) always produce good performances in the qualifiers so it's a tough task for us to go down there and get a result. I don't think it's beyond us though," Sheedy remarked.

Certainly, Tipperary gave Kerry their fill of it in the Munster SFC and they will fancy their chances of putting one over the midlanders.

"Longford had the win of the round, if not the championship, when they beat Derry last time out but there is no such thing as a favourite's tag in this business now," Sheedy's counterpart Peter Creedon pointed out this week.

"That goes out the window and it is a 50/50 game now. Longford are a good footballing county as well and they will travel strong to this match."
