Dromard club notes

July 07, 2020

Activity on the Pitch: Our senior team has recommenced training in line with the public health guidance on COVID-19. The senior championship will take place from the end of the month and Dromard will face St Mary’s Granard and Abbeylara. Dromard’s first game in the group will be against Granard. Dates and venues will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Best of luck to our players and management team in the coming weeks.

Mew walking track under construction: Construction work on our new walking track is well underway and we are excited about opening it to the public in the coming months. In the meantime, the track and our grounds are a construction site. For your safety and the safety of others, please do not enter our grounds to use the walking track until the construction works are completed. Thank you.

Resumption of Masses in Legga and Moyne Churches from Monday 29 June: Masses have resumed in Legga and Moyne churches and all are welcome. Given the ongoing need to adhere to two-metre physical distancing, the capacity of the churches is reduced and other changes are necessary to ensure compliance with the current health guidelines. All those attending Mass are asked to cooperate with the ushers who will be on duty in both churches to ensure the safety of those attending. It is important to note that weekday masses have been designated to fulfil the Sunday obligation and so attendance at a Wednesday or Friday evening Mass has the same status as the Sunday Mass.

Message to the Community on COVID-19: We hope that all our members, players and supporters are keeping well and minding yourselves. Dromard GAA club would like to offer their support to anyone in the community who needs help with collecting prescriptions, groceries or any other essential items during this difficult time. All you need to do is contact Club Chairman Gerry Sheridan on 087 2394962 and we would be more than happy to help.
