Emmet Og club notes

July 02, 2018

Congratulations to our under 14 team and management who had a great run at the national fèile at the weekend. After 4 straight wins we found ourselves in the semi final on Sunday after noon in Ashbourne  against North London. Missed chances unfortunately cost us as we went down by two points to North London who went on to win the competition out. Thank you to our host club Tullylish Gaa in county Down for your most gracious hospitality over the weekend.

Our reserve junior team had a fine win in the league semi final last week against Legan Sarsfields and have now progressed to the final where we will meet Ardagh/Mydow. The game will take place in the coming weeks.

This weekend we area way to Colmcille in the senior league on Saturday evening at 7pm while our juniors are away to Longford Slashers on Sunday at 3.30pm. Good luck to both.

Our lotto draw for a jackpot of  €13,200 took place in Begleys bar on Sunday night and the numbers drawn were 2, 15, 28 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Tom Quinn, Ennybegs,  Jimmy Halpin, Caherly family, Micknagh, Erin and Faye Conefrey, St Mels View, Longford and James Mckeown, Lissanean. This weeks sellers prize went to Frank Toher. Thank you to Margaret McCormack who assisted with the smooth running of the lotto on Sunday night. Next weeks sees the jackpot rise to €13,300 with the draw in the Olde Forge on Sunday night.

Finally this week we offer our deepest condolences to the family of Max Wenman following his death last week. We also remember Yvonne O Toole  who's grandmother passed away at the weekend. May they rest in peace.
