Division 1 League: Dromard 1-10 Colmcille 2-8. Our senior team was defeated by Colmcille in Round 4 of the League played in Fr McGee Park on Saturday evening last. A slow start to the game by Dromard saw Colmcille build up a 1-6 to 0-2 lead after 15 minutes. A well-taken goal by Cian Mimnagh brought Dromard back into the game but Colmcille responded and scored a goal of their own to leave the half-time score at Colmcille 2-6 Dromard 1-3. The Dromard points in the first half were scored by Diarmuid Masterson, James Martin and Ronan McEntire. Dromard's play was much improved in the second half and points from Francis McGee (2), James Martin (3), Diarmuid Masterson and Ronan McEntire reduced the deficit to a single point. However, despite outscoring their opponents by 7 points to 2 in the second half, a number of missed scoring chances throughout the game proved costly as Colmcille held out to claim the two points. Team: Sean McNerney; Paul McGee, Pauric Martin, Niall Vance; Peter Reynolds, John Sheridan, Peter Masterson; Diarmuid Masterson, Ronan McEntire; Bryan McCormack, Joseph Hagan, Bernard Sheridan; Cian Mimnagh, Francis McGee, James Martin. Subs: Luke McEntire.

Division 3: Our second team was defeated by a strong Mostrim side on Sunday last. Playing against a strong breeze, Dromard contested well in the first 15 minutes, trailing by just 1-4 to 1-2 mid way through the half. The Dromard goal was scored by Niall McManus. Mostrim enjoyed a period of dominance before half time and had build up a good lead at the break. Dromard worked hard to close the gap in the second half with Oisin Hourican breaking forward to create several goal chances. Some good scores from Peadar Kiernan and Martin McStay added to Dromard's tally but Mostrim finished strongly for a deserved win. Team: Barry McNerney, Thomas Conefrey, Kevin Donohoe; Oisin Hourican, Martin McStay, Jimmy Kiernan; Noel Reynolds, Peadar Kiernan; Conor Duffy, Conal Murphy, Liam Doherty; Danny Petit, Niall McManus. Dromard Ladies Club Notes

County U/14s: Hard luck to Louise and Kate and all their teammates for losing to Kildare on sat last by the kick of a ball 2-08 to 1-08. In a tough group,as you would expect from an A Championship they held their own with this narrow defeat,a fine win up in Dublin and a more comprehensive defeat away to Meath.Well done girls. You are doing your County proud.

Results and Fixtures: As mentioned last week our U/12 Panel had their game moved from Mon to Weds and the venue changed from Monaduff to Dromard. Still at least we got the game played thanks to the co-operation of both clubs. As to the score, we managed to get plenty of good scores, but unfortunately not as many as St. Helen's. However there is plenty of improvement to be seen on the team, so let's hope we managed to turn that into a win when St. Brigid's came calling on Monday. Report next week. Things are a lot more straightforward when it comes to our U/16s. They had an overwhelming victory against Colmcille, thus preserving their 100% record and securing a home draw against the runners up in Group 2.

Senior: Our Senior Panel were out on Sunday in the Div 2 Semi-final at home to Grattans. In a closely contested match, well officiated in his customary manner by Frank Toher, we got off to a good start and opened up a points gap after 15 minutes. We then suffered a setback when Doireann Mimnagh had to go off with a serious ankle injury. Both teams send you goodwill messages and hope for your speedy recovery Doireann. This had an adverse effect on our play which allowed Grattans to pull back level by halftime. Indeed Grattans took up where they left off after the break and were to open up a lead, before Dromard finally got their act together to edge it at the final whistle on a scoreline of 5-08 to 4-08. Thanks to our supporters for turning out,and also Grattans for bringing their support, and we hope you all get behind the girls for the Final against Ballymore who had a slim victory in the other semi v Colmcille. The winners will be promoted to Division 1 for next year.

Skills and Drills: continues on the Astroturf every Sat morning from 10 30 to 11 30. Its brilliant to see so many new faces coming, and we welcome you all to Dromard Ladies Football and hope you all stay long enough to make our Senior Panel in years to come. All the girls who train you started just like you,so keep at it. For Mammy's and Daddy's we will hold our registration in the next couple of weeks, where you will be able to sign up your daughters officially and get their goody bags. If, in the meantime you have any questions about our club,or Ladies Football in general, don't be afraid to ask Imelda or any of the trainers at the sessions. They are all experienced Senior players and can answer any worries you might have.

Birthdays: Firstly to one of our new girls who is coming to Skills and Drills, Chloe McDonald who was 7 at the beginning of the month. Also Sarah Maguire who will be 11 on Friday, and Grace Duffy who will be 8 on Monday next. Happy Birthday to you all from all your new found friends in Dromard Ladies.
