Emmet Og club notes

December 04, 2017

With no activity taking place on the pitches at the moment is is a perfect time to focus on another group of individuals within our club who are integral to the smooth running of games within the county, our referees. On Sunday last the county under 21 A and B championship finals took place and were referred by two Killoe men, Gerry Carberry and Frank Toher, whilst Padraig Mckenna was linesman for both games. As usual the games ran smoothly as they always do with these men in charge. We are currently blessed with a rich vein of referees within the club, as in addition to the above 3 we also have Jimmy McCormack refereeing at the top level within the county. No game can take place without the man in the middle so we certainly owe a debt of gratitude to these men who gave up several evenings a week to officiate over our games.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in The Olde Forge for a jackpot of  €10,300 and the numbers drawn were 8, 26, 29 and 31. Unfortunately there was no winner. €20 winners were Cian O Reilly, Ballinalee, Brendan Loughlin, Shroid, Geraldine Halpin, Killoe, David Mimnagh, Clonbalt and Darragh Fitzsimons, Killoe with Kiernans shop taking this weeks sellers prize. Next week sees the jackpot rise to €10,400 with the draw in Begleys bar on Sunday night.

Thanks again to all who support our lotto in all its guises as it is our main source of income week by week.

Finally this week we offer our deepest sympathies to the Crehan family, Corneddan on their bereavement last week.
