Mike Sexton is Referees New Secretary

Following last evening's Limerick G.A.A. referees annual general meeting held at Munster G.A.A. Council office in Castletroy with a large attendance and Bruree Mike Sexton was appointed Limerick Referees secretary for 2017.

Richard Moloney who was elected secretary in 2016 steps down as secretary due to work commitments which left the door open for another South referee to take up the roll.

2016 Chairman Patsy Coffey won his challenge when Ballingarry's Patrick O Carroll contested the chairman position while another 2016 officer Eamonn Phelan (St Patricks) won the challenge from Donnacha O Callaghan (Feoghanagh) for the position of Treasurer.

Other officers who were elected on the evening were Jason Mullins (St Kierans) who defeated Michael O Flaherty (Rathkeale) for the position of Assistant Secretary and Martin Doherty (Rathkeale) who was re-elected as Limerick G.A.A. Referees P.R.O.

Guest speakers on the night were County Board chairman Oliver Mann, Referees Coordinator Mike Meade and C.C.C. member Seamus McNamara.

2017 membership of €20 to the association needs to be paid by March 31st to treasurer Eamonn Phelan with the first meeting of 2017 will take place on Wednesday 29th March.

The elected officers for 2017 is as follows Chairman Patrsy Coffey (Cappamore), Vice Chairman Patrick O Carroll (Granagh/Ballingarry), Secretary Mike Sexton (Bruree), Assiatant Secretary Jason Mullins (St Kierans), Treasurer Eamonn Phelan (St Patrick's) and P.R.O. Martin Doherty (Rathkeale).
