FOR THE COUNTY INTERMEDIATE HURLING CUP FINAL AGAISNT DROMIN/ ATHLACCA, ON THIS COMING SUNDAY OCTOBER 23RD, NOW IN THE GAELIC GROUNDS, LIMERICK, NOW AT 1.30PM. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR MANGEMENT TEAM OF RAY LYNCH, JAMES NOONAN, BACKROOM TEAM OF LIAM MCGRAYNOR, JIMMY LACEY, MARIA LACEY, CHRISTINE MCCARTHY PHYSIO/ FIRST AID JOHN BRUADAIR AND THE PANEL OF PLAYERS LED BY PAUL MADIGAN CAPTAIN!!!

On the way to the Cup Final in the group stages, in round 1 we defeated by St. Kieran's on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-14, in round 2 we lost to Dromin/ Athlacca on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-17, in round 3 we lost to Glenroe on a scoreline 1-17 to 1-12, in round 4 we lost to Kildimo/ Pallaskenry on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-03, then in round 5 we lost to Knockaderry on a scoreline of 7-13 to 1-19 and the in the Cup Semi-Final we defeated Newcastle West on a scoreline of 2-18 to 3-13 to book our place into the final against Dromin/ Athlacca we be looking for revenge come Sunday afternoon on our one point loss to Dromin/ Athlacca from earlier this year.

Monaleen 2-14

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-11

This was a very tight game with Monaleen leading by at the break 2-7 to 1-5 with two goals for Monaleen coming from Shane Cusack and Colm Moran and the Dromcollogher/ Broadford goal came from Kevin Noonan and then in the second half Monaleen out-scored Dromcollogher/ Broadford by 0-7 to 0-4, to win back their 6th title.

Barry Fitzpatrick scored the first point of the game for Monaleen and then fisted goal from Kevin Noonan with 4 minutes gone in the game to give the lead by two points. Monaleen scored the next 1-3 to give them lead of four points with the goal coming from Shane Cusack in the 10th minute of the game with two of these points coming from Graham O'Connell and the other point coming from Ger Collins and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the three points to leave one point between the sides and these points came from Patrick Donnelly, Kevin Noonan and Paul Madigan. Monaleen scored the next 1-1 of the game to leave by five points with their second goal coming from Colm Moran in the 22nd minute of the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points on two occasions before the break on the first occasion it was Kevin Noonan and Barry Fitzpatrick and then on the second occasion it was Patrick Donnelly and Graham O'Connell to leave five points between the sides at end of the half. To leave the score at half-time Monaleen 2-7 to 1-5.

Monaleen scored the first point of the second half coming from Graham O'Connell to put six points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points to leave four points and these points came from Derry McCarthy and Micheál Brosnan. Monaleen scored the next two points to six points between the sides once again with both points coming from Ger Collins and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to bring the margin down to a goal between the sides with two of these points coming from Kevin Noonan one from play and other from a free and the other point coming from Killian Phair. Monaleen scored the next two points to put five points between the sides Ger Collins and Brian O'Donovan and then Garrett Noonan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point of the game to reduce down to four points coming from 45m. Monaleen scored the last two points of the game to win by six points and also to win back the William Casey Memorial cup and these points came from Barry Fitzpatrick and Ger Collins. To leave the score at full-time Monaleen 2-14 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-11.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-09Results of the 222nd draw took place on Monday October 17th, in O'Shea's Bar, Dromcollogher, and the numbers drawn were: 3, 9, 24 and 28, there was no winner of the jackpot of €5,900 and there was two winners of match three at €100 and they each got €50 and they were: John Leahy, Dromcollogher and Paddy Wright, Dromcollogher and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Mai Lacey, Strand and John Sheehan, Dromcollogher and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday night October 24th, in Neenan's Bar, Broadford, at 10.15pm sharp, the jackpot going up to €6,000 (win or share) and the match three staying at €100 (win or share). Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
