Kiely is the new Limerick manager

Limerick have chosen John Kiely to be their new hurling manager.

Kiely was U21 manager for the past two seasons and has been chosen ahead of Shane O'Neill for the position.

Limerick GAA released the following statement late last night:

"The five man committee consisting of Joe McKenna, Oliver Mann, Bernard Duggan, Brendan O Connor and Mike O Riordan ratified at the August County Committee to return to with the next Limerick Senior Hurling Management team, wish to bring forward for ratification at Management tomorrow evening John Kiely - Manager, Paul Kinnerk - Coach, Joe O Connor S & C Coach and Jimmy Quilty - selector with one more selector to be appointed."

The above recommendation was ratified by club delegates at tonights Limerick county board meeting in Claughaun.

Kiely who acted as a selector for John Allen when Limerick won the Munster title in 2013 was handed a three year term of office.
