The last in our series of table quizzes will take place on Friday, July 1st at 10pm in Barrett's Bar. With each night so far building on the success of the previous quiz, Friday week promises to provide another night of great entertainment. There will be spot prizes and a raffle also. All support is welcome and greatly appreciated.
Junior B West C'ship
Glin 3-9
Ballysteen 0-14
Our Junior Bs had a great victory in their opening game of the West championship. Right from the off, our forwards began with intent, with Karl O'Sullivan and Darren Sheahan netting first half goals. Ger Lyons and Mike Sweeney also added some well taken points. However, Ballysteen came right back into it towards the break, cutting our lead to 3 points at the interval.
The second half was a dogged affair with momentum swinging either way. The introduction of Eoin Woulfe, Shane McInerney and Ben Flanagan proved decisive as they drove us on with some tenacious defending and fine scoring taking as we ran out 4 point winners. Great credit is due to our backs who were well marshalled by Mike Stack throughout and refused to concede any goals. Best for Glin were Eoin and Ben Flanagan, Karl O'Sullivan and Karol Geoghegan.
