Junior Hurlers:
Our junior hurlers were second best to Doon in the quarter final of the County Junior A hurling championship last Saturday evening in Caherconlish. Down by 0-10 to 0-07 at the half time break after playing against the wind. In the second half with the wind behind us we miss a lot of scoring chances and never close the half time margin with time running out Doon hit us with a killer goal with ten minutes left on the clock and when the final whistle blew we were five points behind 1-15 to 0-13. We lined out as follows David Geary, Jack Greenwood, Mark Phelan, James Madden, Andrew Hannigan, Gearoid Hegarty, Kevin Maher, Brendan Mullins, John Mullane, Niall Phelan, Gearoid Phelan, Patrick Mullins Padraig Reale, Mark Kiely and Jason Mullins. Subs used were Anthony Kett for Gearoid Phelan and Wayne Cronin for Padraig Reale. Other panel members were David Clancy, Joe Ryan, Cyril Hamilton, Gavin Mullins, Shane McNamara, Darragh Cronin and Craig Rochford. The replay of the Patsy Nicholas Bar Gerald Griffin St. City junior A Hurling championship final against Na Piarsaigh will take place next Saturday in Claughaun at 5pm with extra time if required. We still have a chance to finish the hurling season with silverwear so please come out and give support to our junior hurlers.
