KILLEEDY CROWNED SENIOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
Killeedy 3-8 (3-4) Ahane 2-9 (1-5)
Limerick Senior Camogie League Final
Saturday 29th August
Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale

Killeedy weathered a strong comeback from Ahane to be crowned Senior League Champions in Mick Neville Park on Saturday evening. The rescheduled final, which was postponed from May due to a bereavement, was a fantastic display of camogie from two of the top sides in the county.
The game was played at a blistering tempo from the off and in the opening quarter Ahane struggled to cope with the pace of Killeedy as they opened an impressive 2-3 to 0-2 lead after the opening 20 minutes with both goals coming from Aine Cunningham.
Ahane finished the half strongly and a well-taken goal by Margaret Meskell from a pass flicked in behind the defence by Aine Reynolds put them firmly back in the game. But an opportunist goal just before the break from Marie Keating restored Killeedy's lead to 5 points at the break.
The second half resumed under lights and another goal from Margaret Meskell reduced Killeedy's lead to 2 points after 10 minutes.
Ahane, with Niamh Mulcahy very much to the fore, were to come within a point of Killeedy but were never able to pull them back due in no small part to an impressive Killeedy defense in which Noreen Barry played the sweeper role very effectively.
Killeedy ran out winners by 3-8 to 2-9. Captain Deirdre Fitzpatrick accepted the trophy from County Board Chairperson Sean Condon.
Both sides will shift focus now to Senior championship action which resumes in a couple of weeks.
Killeedy Scorers: Aine Cunningham 2-1, Marie Keating 1-2, Joanne O'Gorman 0-2, Orla Cunningham, Ellanna Mulcahy and Edwina Mullane 0-1 each.
Ahane Scorers: Margaret Meskell 2-0, Niamh Mulcahy 0-9
