West Junior A Hurling Championship Semi-Final

Dromcollogher/ Broadford  0-19
Rathkeale   3-10

The Sides we have to did it all again on this coming Saturday September 5th, in the replay, in Feenagh, at 3.30pm (with extra-time if necessary), a goal at end of the game came from Damien Quaid of Rathkeale deep in injury time.  Rathkeale scored the three of game with two coming from Shane Hourigan and the other goal came from Damien Quaid.

Rathkeale and Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged early pointed frees with two Damien's scoring for each side, Damien Lacey for Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Damien Quaid for Rathkeale.  Shane Hourigan of Rathkeale scored the first goal of the game from a free to leave a goal between the sides with 3 minutes gone in the game and Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next eight points without reply from Rathkeale and these points came from Derry McCarthy and Damien Lacey three points each and the other two points came from Jack O'Sullivan.  Damien Quaid scored the next two points for Rathkeale one from play and the other from a free to leave three points between the sides and then Damien Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Eoghan O'Connor of Rathkeale exchanged points just before the break to leave three points between the sides at the end of the half.  To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-10 to Rathkeale 1-04.

Shane Hourigan scored a goal with 31 minutes gone in the game to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game and then Damien Lacey put Dromcollogher/ Broadford back into the lead once again with two pointed frees.  Damien Quaid of Rathkeale scored the next pointed free and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points with two of these points coming from Damien Lacey and the other point coming from Paul Madigan.  Damien Quaid of Rathkeale and Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points to leave four points between the sides.  Rathkeale scored the next four points with three points coming from Damien Quaid all from frees and the other point came from Eoghan O'Connor to bring sides back on level terms for third time during the game.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points of the game and these points came from Tom McLoughlin scored a super point, Damien Lacey with a pointed free and then Kevin Noonan with the point of the game and then Damien Quaid of Rathkeale scored a bullet of a goal to bring sides back on level terms for the fourth time during the game and to send the game to replay when the sides will have to it all again on this coming Saturday September 5th, in Feenagh, at 3.30pm (with extra-time if necessary).  To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-19 to Rathkeale 3-10.

West Minor B Football Championship Semi-Final

Our Minor Footballers were well beaten by Granagh/ Ballingarry/ Banogue, this game was played down in Feenagh, on last Tuesday evening week, the above club would like to thank the management team of Garrett Noonan, Brian and Kevin Noonan and Tom O'Callaghan and the panel of players led by Jack Ryan captain.

U8 Hurling Blitz

On Friday night last we played in another u8 county hurling blitz held in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale.  On the night we had 12 players we got to play three matches against Adare , Feohanagh/ Castlemahon, and Granagh/ Ballingarry.  All our players played well in all the three games, some of our players even got a chance to chat and get to know all about the players they were marking. This will tell you that these blitzes are all about learning new skills and meeting new friends and having fun.  Another big thank you for a big support for the players from their parents, brothers, and sisters. The team were as follows: Orlaith Shanahan, Alex O'Dell, Rory O'Dell, Shane Browne, Gavin Farrell, Olly Brudair, Adam O' Kelly, Séan Flynn, Colin Burke, Jack Noonan, Cathal Boyce and James Stack.  We would like to wish all our players the very best of luck in school for the new term.

Well Done

To Damien Burke of Dromcollogher/ Broadford who played with Limerick U16 B Hurling team, in Tipperary, on Saturday last, in the group stages they defeated Kildare on a scoreline of 1-17 to 0-07 with Damien scoring four points and the second game in the group stages they defeated Galway on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-08 Damien scored two points and then in the All-Ireland Semi-Final they lost to Cork by 1-12 to 2-08 with Damien scoring a point, well done once again Damien.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

Results of the 167th draw took place on Monday Night last August 31st, in the Green Bar, Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were: 9, 12, 20 and 26, there was no winner of jackpot at €4,800 and there was no winner of match 3 at €100 and the two lucky dips winners of €50 each were: Thomas O'Brien, Dromcollogher and Isobel Reidy, Dromcollogher and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday night September 7th, in Begley's Bar, Broadford, at 10pm sharp, with the jackpot going up to €4,900 (win or share) and with the match three staying at €100 (win or share).  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
