We are in the midst of a busy period for Galbally GAA. The Scanlon Cup final was played against Galtee Gaels on Monday night last and our Intermediates scraped over the line against a strong Galtee Gaels challenge by 4-10 to 2-11. The team was Kevin Denihan, Eoin Halligan, Eoin Bourke, Billy Donoghue, Johnny McCarthy, James Ryan, Declan Barry, Kieran Hickey, Pa Murphy, Ger Quinlan, Nathan Byrnes, Mike Donovan, Andy O'Brien, Vinny O'Connell, Gary McCarthy. Subs: Tom Harty, Jack Donovan, Henry Leahy, Aidan Sheehan, Niall Kearney. The Intermediates also played a challenge game against Cahir Seniors on Friday night last which resulted in a draw 2-13 to 2-13. Ger Ryan, Aidan Sheehan, Eoin Bourke, Johnny McCarthy, Eoin Halligan, Billy Donoghue, Cathal Shanahan, Mike Donovan, Kieran Hickey, Nathan Byrnes, Vinny O'Connell, Ger Quinlan, Gary McCarthy, Jonathan Scully, Andy O Brien Subs: Kevin Denihan, Robert Casey. The Intermediate team play the Dinny Ryan cup final this week. They will play Round 5 of the Intermediate Football Championship on Wednesday next 2nd September in Clarina at 6.45pm. The Junior team played Knockane in a midweek challenge last week and face a double this week with Ballylanders in the Wilsie Cussen cup final and Castletown/Ballyagran in the South Junior Championship.


The minor team played Knockainey in midweek by 6-9 to 4-7 thanks to a haul of 3-7 from Jamie Morrissey. The team was: James Donovan, Gavin Ryan, Niall Kearney, Conor Sheehan, Paddy Donovan, Cathal Shanahan, Roibeard Donovan, Ger Quinlan, Micheal Burke, Ryan Tobin, Nathan Byrnes, Eoin Sheehan, Alex Finnan, Jamie Morrissey, Mark Quinlan. Subs: Timmy Tobin, Conor Murphy. They were beaten by St Johns on Sunday on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-7. The team was James Donovan, Timmy Tobin, Niall Kearney, Conor Sheehan, Paddy Donovan, Cathal Shanahan, Jack Houlihan, Ger Quinlan, Joseph Johnson, Dylan O'Shea, Nathan Byrnes, Eoin Sheehan, Alex Finnan, Jamie Morrissey, Mark Quinlan. Subs: Adam Slattery, Patrick Gleeson.


The Under 16 team beat Kildimo/Pallaskenry by 6-12 to 1-6 to qualify for the County Semi Final. The team was Conor O Mahoney, Micheal McCabe, Roibeard Donovan, Micheal Dwyer, Eoin O Mahoney, James Cummins, Darragh Bourke, Jack Houlihan, Dylan O Shea, Adam Slattery, Eoin Sheehan, Mark Quinlan, Ben Coughlan, Calum Sheehan, Darragh Kehoe. Subs: Cathal Flynn, Patrick Gleeson, Keane Baker. Well done to Jonathan Scully who refereed the South Senior Football final between Ballylanders and Bruff last weekend.
