Championship Update
Fr. Caseys Minor Footballers take on Newcastle West this Wednesday evening August 19th in their final group game in the county championship. Both teams go into the game having a perfect record with two wins from two games. The victors next Wednesday night will top the group and qualify for the automatic semi-final spot, the loser will progress to a county quarter final. This promises to be a great encounter between the two sides who have dominated underage football in recent years. Newcastle West are tipped by many as favorites for the county crown this year but this Fr. Caseys team will be determined to keep a firm grip on the cup they won just 12 months ago. The game throws in at 7pm in Abbeyfeale and it would be great if a big crowd could attend to cheer on the boys in blue.
Our Senior Footballers will play their final group game in the county championship on Thursday September 3rd against St. Kierans. This game has a 6.45pm start in Newcastle West. Last year we were fortunate to escape with a draw against St. Kierans in the same venue and another close tie will be expected. Currently tied for third place in the group, victory over St. Kierans will give us a great chance of making the quarter finals but this will also depend on results elsewhere. It could come down to head to head encounters or scoring difference and no doubt it will be an anxious night for the supporters. The players however will have their eyes firmly focused on the task at hand and should they deliver to the same high standard as shown against Ballysteen then they won't be far from victory.
Spin & Win Draw
The following are the results from the last Sunday nights Spin and Win Draw which was held in Donal & Anns Bar. Congratulations to Pat Kelliher who scooped the jackpot prize of €1,600. Well done to all our others winners and many thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket.

The next Spin and Win Draw will be held on Sunday August 23rd in Jack Ryans Bar at 9.30pm. With the jackpot won last weekend, the prize fund starts at €1,000 for the coming draw. The four players spinning the wheel next weekend are as follows:
