Patsy Nicholas Bar Gerald Griffin St Junior A Hurling Championship

Crecora Manister and Patrickswell faced off in the Patsy Nicholas Bar Gerald Griffin St Junior A Hurling Championship in Mungret on Saturday evening last. Patrickswell raced into a three point lead courtesy of their chief scorer Bobby Harty with two points and a point from Dean Cawley. Mike McCormack had a point for Crecora before Bobby Harty struck for a fine individual goal for the "Well". Crecora were troubled at this stage but didn't panic and they came back with points from Rob Hourigan, Edwin Wixtead, and Cormac Flanagan to leave two between the sides. Gearoid Balfry, Paul O'Grady and David Woulfe had points for Patrickswell but these were cancelled out with a fine Goal from Rob Hourigan and two pointed frees from Shane Moloney to leave the sides level at the break 1-6 apiece.

The second half saw some fine play from both sides with crecora having three points each from Edwin Wixtead and Mike McCormack but in the end it was the free scoring Bobby Harty that was the difference as he contributed six of his sides seven points "5 frees" and Paul O'Grady chipped in with a point to leave but the minimum between the sides at the final whistle. Full Time score Patrickswell 1-13 Crecora Manister 1-12.

Horse & Hound Bar Mulgrave St Junior A Football Championship

Kildimo/Pallaskenry and Patrickswell contested their last round of this competition in Clarina on Monday August 10th. Patrickswell were short a number of players that had recently played very well in this competition against Monaleen and this was fairly evident as the game progressed. Martin Nunan and Peter Nash had early points for Kildimo/Pallaskenry with Dara Shanahan point a free for Patrickswell. Points from Shane Gloster, Tom O'Shea, Martin Nunan, Peter Nash (2) and Tony McCarthy (3) for Kildimo/Pallaskenry saw them lead by 1-10 to 0-3 at the short whistle with the other two scores from Dara Shanahan again from two pointed frees. The second half saw Kildimo Pallaskenry continue to totally dominate the game and two goals from Johnathan McHale and Tom O'Shea and points from Peter Nash (2), Eoin Cuddihy (2), Shane Gloster and Dylan Corrigan. Patrickswell replied with a pointed free from Dara Shanahan. The final score was Kildimo /Pallaskenry 2-16 Patrickswell 0-4.
