Q3 SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown 1-19 Bruff 1-12 Played in Rathkeale on Saturday evening in front of a large attendance, this was a very good game of hurling. Ballybrown got off to a great start with two points from David Hall and also had a goal chance cleared off the line before Bruff got into the game. Bruff replied with two points of their own. Points once again from Mikey Kiely and Alan O Connor and again we led by two. A point from a free for Bruff was followed by a well taken goal  on fifteen minutes  and Bruff took the lead for the first time in the game. Both teams scored a further six points each with Bryan Griffins side line cut being the pick of them, to leave the halftime score at Ballybrown 0-10 Bruff 1-09. A pointed free from Alan O Connor from the throw in was followed by a great goal from Mikey Kiely with only two minutes gone in the second half and Ballybrown were on the front foot again. Six points from Alan O Connor, two from play with a single reply from Bruff had Ballybrown ahead by seven points with ten minutes remaining. Two points from Bruff were cancelled out by points from Des Kenny and Alan O Connor to maintain our seven point advantage to the final whistle. The Rathkeale pitch was in fine condition for the match and the match officials did a very good job on the match. Next up for Ballybrown is Croom which is fixed for the weekend of 24th July to 26th July.
