St. Kieran's GAA notes

April 21, 2015

ACHL Division 3, Round 3

St. Kieran's 0-08
Monaleen 4-13
We played Monaleen on Thursday evening last in the County Intermediate hurling league in Coolcappa. Minus a number of regulars on the night, due to various reasons, we suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of a full strength Monaleen team. We would like to thank those who made themselves available to make up a team at short notice. Croagh/Kilfinny provide the opposition on Sunday next in the West Intermediate hurling championship; a game in which we will hopefully have a stronger panel available to select from.
Panel: John Greaney, Padraig Trant, Paidi McCarthy, Conor O'Mahony, James Windle, Anthony Molyneaux, Mikie Breen, Michael Windle, Donie Nolan, Michael Enright, Jonathan Ruttle, Ian Mackassey, Cillian Enright, Michael Steele, Danny Collum, Anthony Mullins, Gerard Donovan, Cillian Ambrose, Paddy Hartnett

Senior Football
The opening rounds of the Irish Wire Products sponsored 2015 County Senior football championship take place over the coming weekend. We face Adare, who we also met at the same stage last year, in the Bog Garden, Rathkeale on Friday evening at 7pm. Adare, buoyed by their County U21 B success in 2014, will provide stern opposition with a mixture of youth and experience in their ranks. Preparations on our part have been mixed. After being heavily defeated in the first two rounds of the County league, we followed up with victories over Castlemahon in the West Senior football championship and Monaleen and Fr. Casey's in the league respectively. We hope to bring this recent form into Friday evening's encounter where a huge effort will be required by our boys to secure the points on offer. All support welcome.

Fixtures:
Friday, May 24th: Co. Senior Football Championship Round 1, St. Kieran's v Adare in the Bog Garden, Rathkeale at 7pm.
Sunday, May 26th: West Intermediate Hurling Championship Round 1, St. Kieran's v Croagh/Kilfinny in Knockaderry at 7pm.

Note: All fixtures are confirmed at time of going to press but are subject to change. Please contact any committee member for confirmation of dates, times and venues.
