SENIOR  CLUB NEWS.
• Minor A Hurling Championship Rnd 2
MONALEEN 1-13
Ballybricken 1-5

A fine game of hurling last Friday saw Monaleen too strong for Ballybricken. The game was tight up to half-time but Monaleen burst ahead in the second half with a series of fine scores. However then we suffered a number of injuries to key players and the young replacements were key in a fighting display that kept Ballybricken at bay until the final whistle.

• U12 Hurling. We played our first game in the Qualifying Phase of the Limerick U12 Hurling League away to our friends in Crecora GAA. On what was a perfect evening for hurling we came away with a good win. While all players put in a good performance, special mention has to be given to Declan Aylward, Dylan Crowe and captain Noel Clancy who worked their socks off to win ball and selflessly distribute it to their team mates who then capitalised with some well taken scores. Thanks to all Crecora players for a sporting game. Our next league game is away to Ballinacurra Gaels Thurs April 30th 6.45pm. Training continues on Fridays 7.30pm on our clubhouse pitch.

Camogie
• The final in the series of U12 blitz took place in Cappamore on Saturday morning. The girls dominated their first match v Ahane but couldn't get the scores due to bad luck and some strong defensive play from Ahane. In the end a pointed free conceded in the last minute resulted in a 1 point loss.
Our second match against Cappamore was a more open affair and the girls returned to winning form with a scoreline of Monaleen 4-1 to Cappamore 0-0. A great run and hand pass from Ella Hession giving Amy O Brien an opportunity which she pointed was the score of the day.
Niamh Moloney; Fiona Gleeson; Mia O Halloran; Emily O Brien; Amy O Brien (0-1); Aoife Nelligan (1-0); Charlie Drury; Mia O Halloran; Clodagh Power; Emily O Halloran; Caoimhe Brady; Aoife Sheehan; Kerrie Carey; Aoife Doyle (1-0); Ella Hession (2-0); Amy Burke.
• Next Saturday the girls travel to Semple Stadium for the Caman to Thurles competition which is sure to be a great day out.
• Round 3 of the U14 Camogie League saw Templeglantine pay a visit to Monaleen clubhouse pitch last Thursday. Conditions were glorious. Templeglantine only had 13 players so we played 13 a side. It was nip and tuck all the way through but Templeglantine shaded the contest by the minimum of margins on a score line of 3-5 to 3-4. The privileged few that witnessed the game were enthralled by some great performances from both sides.

One of the Monaleen players to shine was Emma O'Donohue who brought her county experience to the club sphere with some inspirational touches, capping off her performance with several scores.

Showing her cat-like reflexes was the irrepressible Tara Hogan who, on more than one occasion, stopped sure goals with well-timed blocks and assured clearances. Abby McCarthy also batted away would be scorers in a first half cameo.

Caitlin Bonfil gave her usual battling, captain-like performance, inspiring those around her.

Lucy D'Arcy showed her pace and defensive skills by getting the better of her marker - a county player - in the second half.

Next up is 'Animal Enclosure of Blood' also known as Tournafulla on Tuesday at home.

Monaleen: Caitlin Bonfil, Laura Burke, Abby Colford McCarthy, Aoife D'Arcy 1-0, Lucy D'Arcy, Roisin D'Arcy, Emma Donohoe 1-4, Aoife Doyle, Laura Hession, Tara Hogan, Francesca Kearns, Eimar Morgan, Rachel Murphy, Ciara O'Driscoll, Maeve Rea, Emma Rea 1-0, Sarah Sheehan.
• Our U16 girls played competition favourites Kileedy/Tournafulla on Friday in UL. Despite some great effort and determination from the girls they were beaten by opposition that were just too strong on the night.
• Susan Fullen, Aine Doyle; Katie Golden; Shalini Kutur; Aoife Darcy; Robyn McDonnell; Fiona Fitzpatrick; Ellen Regan Magner; Ruth Heavey; Kerry O Donoghue; Caitlin Bonfil; Laura Hession; Aoife O Driscoll; Kealin Corcoran & Aisling Kennedy.
