West U21A Hurling Final Replay

Our U21 Hurlers lost out to Croagh/Kilfinny in an entertaining and sporting replay in Mick Meville Park on Saturday Evening last.

Playing into a gale and having lost Brian Hurley to injury after five minutes we found ourselves five points down at half time. We dug deep in the 2nd half and looked to have secured victory when we took the lead on the stroke of full time.

However three minutes into injury time Croagh got the equalizer that sent the game into extra time.

With the aid of the elements Croagh scored 1-3 without reply in the first half of extra time. Despite our best efforts we could not claw back the lead and ended up five points behind at the final whistle. Congratulations to Croagh and best of luck in the County Championship.

All in all a great effort by the team and management and a dramatic improvement on our first day out when we were beaten by 12 point by the same opposition. While it is the end of the U21 hurling season hopefully we will see all of these lads hurling Intermediate, Junior B or Minor for the year ahead.

U14 Hurling Feile QF

On Sunday Morning last our under 14 hurlers were beaten by two points by Askeaton Ballysteen in difficult conditions. In a tough low scoring game we were level at half time and got our noses in front only to be caught be a late goal.
