Ballybrown club notes
March 02, 2015All in Ballybrown would like to extend our sympathies to the family and friends on the tragic loss of Patrick (Sonny) O Reilly. May he rest in peace.
SENIOR HURLING CHALLENGE Our Senior hurlers played the Meath county team in a challenge match on Saturday. Playing with a very strong breeze in the first half Ballybrown had plenty of possession but only led by three points at half time 0-06 to 0-03. The second half saw Meath come more into the game and although our lads held them up for much of the half they eventually caught up and in the last ten minutes pulled away from us to run out winners on a scoreline 1-13 to 0-06. This was arguably Ballybrowns worst performance this year but they were up against a very strong intercounty team in Meath and will have learned from the experiance.
UNDER 21 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Our match verses Deel Rangers was postponed due to weather conditions on Sunday morning and I don't as yet have a fixture for the replay.
25 YEAR REUNION This reunion has been postponed as a mark of respect to the O Reilly family due to the sudden death this week of Patrick (sonny) O Reilly who had two sons namely Francis and Gerard on the team. The new date has been rearranged for 25th April.
