Limerick survived a scare against UCC in Kilmallock today to advance to the final of the Waterford Crystal Cup.

The exchanges were keenly contested throughout and Limerick edged ahead - 0-6 to 0-5 - after 20 minutes.

By the halfway stage, TJ Ryan's men had opened up a 0-10 to 0-7 gap but the students refused to throw in the towel and continued to give as good as they got after the resumption.

The sides were level on 10 occasions in the opening 50 minutes and entering the final quarter they were tied at 0-15 apiece.

UCC got their nose in front with five minutes left on the clock when DJ Foran netted the game's only goal but Limerick recovered their composure to outscore their opponents by four points to one in the time that remained.

The Shannonsiders will take on Cork - who scored a 2-21 to 0-18 win over Clare - in next weekend's decider.
