Limerick Co. U16 Div 1 Football Final

St Patrick's   5  - 13, Monaleen  1  - 8;

The U16 County Division 1 football final was held under lights at the Gaelic Grounds on Friday, October 10th. The game was proceeded by the new Bord na n-Óg "Give Respect, Get Respective" exchange between the teams and officials.

St Patrick's started brightly, with early goals from Sean Considine and Calvin Moran.  Further points were added from Nathan Kiely and Aaron Rice before Monaleen had their opening score.  A third goal by Trevor Daly put St Pats into a commanding 3 - 3 to 1 point lead.  Clive Healy was introduced for Marcus Browne and Healy scored a the fourth goal with his first touch of the ball.  St Pats held a commanding lead of 4 - 4 to 0 -1 at half time.

In the second half, Monaleen applied pressure scoring a couple of early points. Thanks to a strong defense and superb goal keeping from Ryan McNamara, St Pats weathered the storm and responded with a couple of points of their own.  Seamus Moloney slotted home a penalty for St Pats and Monaleen had a goal of their own.  Points were to follow from both sides and St Pats ran out easy winners.

St Patrick's joint captains Connor Hayes and Killian Markham accepted the cup from Limerick Bord na nÓg Chairman Denis Carroll.
