Junior B Hurlers

Our Junior B hurlers finally got off the mark in the City Junior Hurling Championship when they entertained Patrickswell in Pairc Dromguil on Wednesday evening.
Played in excellent conditions we began the game well and got some great scores from Aaron Costelloe(2), Ray O Brien, David Sheehan(1-2), Eddie O Neill and Gordon Leonard.
Our two first half goals coming within minutes of each other from Daragh Kennedy and David Sheehan who was having a great battle with his opposite number.
We led at the break 2-7 to 1-6 which was mainly due to the excellent work of the six backs superbly marshalled by full backs Tom Quinn and Brian Buckley along with Jason Ronan and David Broderick on the wings.
We continued our good hurling after the break and some good point taking from Gordon Leonard(0-5,4f), Evan O Brien, Ray O Brien and a second David Sheehan goal gave us a lead we would never relinquish.
Overall a very satisfying performance from the lads who are finally benefitting from the back to back games.
The management team of Cian Kelly, Kenny Leonard and Emmet Beston will be extremely happy with the teams progress and no doubt look forward to their next outing v Ballybrown on Aug 10th
Team: Killian Hennessy, Tom Quinn(capt), Brian Buckley, Cathal Minihane, David Broderick, Alan Sherlock, Ronan McKenna, Daragh Kennedy(1-0), Evan O Brien(0-1f), Eddie O Neill(0-1), Gordon Leonard(0-6, 4f), Jason Ronan, Aaron Costelloe(0-3), David Sheehan(2-2), Ray O Brien(0-2).
