EAST INTERMEDIATE:East Intermediate Championship started last friday evening when we travelled over to Cappamore. On a warm and humid evening for hurling. This was a competitive game of hurling from start to finish with both sides getting some great scores from play.
First half was very even game with each side having a period of Dominance Scores from play in the first half by Andrew Brennan Theo Butler and Aaron Power.
With 20 Minutes gone in the game Cappamore got the games first goal and this put them up by six points. Credit to the lads they battled on and free's and 65's from Gary Murphy kept the scoreboard ticking over.
In the First half both sides were awarded penalties but both were saved. The Caherline penalty was good work by Andrew Brennan and Michael Nelligan to play the ball into Brendan hourigan who got free and heading for goal but was hauled down.
At the half time break it was Cappamore 1-10 Caherline 0-6
Into the second half and only a minute gone the game and cappamore's first attack of the game resulted in their second goal. Now down by ten points the lads knew they had to battle and work hard to get back in the game. And credit to the lads they did that and started to chip away at the lead with points and frees by Kevin Wixted and a second score from play by Theo Butler. We started to win the midfield battle and good high ball fielding by Andrew Brennan opened up the game and we started to get goal chances but it was not going to be out evening for getting goals as a couple of chances were cleared off the line or saved by the goalkeeper.
A late twenty one yard free taken by Padraig O 'keeffe was hit in hard but was too high to get a late goal. And at the fulltime whistle it was Cappamore who got the win on a fulltime score of 2-16 to 0-16.

JUNIORS:East Junior B Championship round 2 took place last saturday evening as the juniors made the very short trip to Boher .
Very Entertaining match took place this evening played on a good evening for hurling and a sharp wind that swirled around the open spaces of Boher.First half was a very even game with both sides taking trading early scores with Kevin Wixted and Philip Mulready getting points from play other scores from play were Mike Kennedy and Cathal Finucane. Murroe/Boher was getting most of their scores from Frees and by half time whistle had built up a three point lead 0-7 to 0-4.
Into the second half and after just six minutes of play we had the three point lead reeled in thanks to Scores from Kevin Wixted and Mike Kennedy. The game then went over and back as both sides traded scores. Second half Sub Eamon Hourigan scored two points from play and Kevin Wixted was flawless all evening on taking frees.
With eight minutes to go Murroe-Boher started to dominate possession and soon were putting the pressure on our backs and then managed to get past the fullback line and from the left hand side hit a shot that was heading for the top corner but a super save by Sean McKenna kept them at bay and the ball was cleared.
Over the next few minutes it did seem to be all Murroe/Boher and with the official time up they had pushed ahead by three points 0-14 to 0-11
A free won by Mike Kennedy on the 65 yard line and the ball Floated in by Cathal Finucane feel to Eamonn Hourigan who struck it low in it was saved bounced out and on to the oncoming William O' Keeffe who struck it low and to the back of net for a match equalising goal. There was still time left for both sides to get a winner but it was not to be and when the fulltime whistle was blown it ended up a draw Caherline 1-11 Murroe-Boher 0-14
Well done to all the Lads on the evening.

U16S:U16s played there fifth game of the Championship on Monday 21st July when Doon were the Visitors to the GAA Field.
This was a Lively game of Hurling that took place. Have just the 15 players the entire game was tough on the lads but credit to them they took the game to Doon from the start and put Doon under pressure and got some good scores from Sean Whelan , Sean McCarthy and Matthew O' Dea.
Half time it was 1-12 to 0-5 to Doon.
Into the second half and more of the same from both sides as both teams had early chances it would be Doon who took their chances and they pushed on with that. As the half wore on with no Subs to bring on the lads did tire as they had ran themselves into the ground working very hard all over the field.
On the Fulltime Whistle Doon Recorded the win on a fulltime score of 5-18 to 0-7.
Well done to our lads on the evening to keep on battling and fighting to the end to create scores and keep Doon at bay.
