County Minor/Senior Hurling
What a week for Ahane on the inter county hurling front firstly last week we had Tom Morrissey star in the replay of the Minster Minor Hurling Final where he received the man of the match award after he scored 5 points and turned the game in Limerick's favour when moved to centre forward well done Tom and roll on 17th August v Galway in Croke Park.

Then last Sunday we had the wonderful display by Limerick senior hurlers where they had an emphatic win over Wexford Niall Moran made his inter county championship return and Dan Morrissey made his championship debut roll on the 10th August v Kilkenny in Croke Park. The club would like to congratulate both sets of panels and management teams on 2 wonderful performances in the last week and wish the teams the best in the all-Ireland sem-finals.

Tony Herbert Memorial Match
Last Saturday evening Ahane senior hurlers made the long trip to Dublin as guest of the Faugh's GAA club. The purpose of this trip was to play in the Tony Herbert Memorial Game. This was a game in honour of Ahane and Faugh's GAA stalwart Tony who graced the hurling fields of Limerick and Dublin in his career and who sadly pasted away last year. Ahane won the match on a scoreline of 1-19 to 1-16 to be the first recipients of the Tony Herbert Memorial trophy. The Ahane GAA club would like to thank Faugh's GAA club for the invitation to play and also thank them for the hospitality shown to Ahane after the match. Faugh's had produced a wonderful programme for the occasion and must be commended on this. It was a wonderful booklet. Well done to everyone involved.

Junior Hurling
Ahane junior hurlers suffered a defeat in the East Junior Hurling Championship last Friday nite when beaten by Doon.
