Limerick hurling manager TJ Ryan says Wexford are "back to their best".

The Treaty County and the Model men are due to meet in a novel All-Ireland quarter-final at Thurles on Sunday and Ryan has the height of respect for Liam Dunne's high-flying charges:

"I'm very impressed. They're very physically strong, very fit, great movement. The game plan is working for them and you'd have to be impressed with them. They play with a lot of tenacity and aggression," he told RTE.

"They look back to their best but from our point of view it's important that we focus on the job at hand. There's a good prize for the winners, a place in the last four.

"We need to concentrate on our own strengths and going to Thurles might slightly favour us as well. It's important that we bring our A game to the table because that's what will be required.

"We were reasonably pleased with our performance in the Munster final. Obviously, any day you lose is not a good day, but we put the disappointment behind us, got back to the training pitch and picked the pieces back up.

"You have to take your chances and for us the chances came early on. It was level at half time but we felt we had the lion's share of possession in the first half.

"We definitely had the better chances. We didn't take them and the key difference between the two teams at the end of the day was that they [Cork] took theirs and we didn't take ours.

"We have to try and develop that performance in the Munster final, tidy up a few loose ends, be a bit more ruthless up front and take the chances when they come our way and hopefully that's good enough."
