Junior Hurlers Prepare for Quarter Final

Our Junior Hurlers continue training as they prepare for the quarter final of the West Championship where they will face the 3rd placed team from Group 1. St Mary' were looking to top the group but were defeated by Feohanagh in the top of the table clash two weeks ago. Rathkeale were defeated on a scoreline of 3-19 to 1-14 in the crunch might which now leaves us in second place. We await the results of the final 2 games in the 2nd group. Templeglantine play Croagh tonight and they play Drom/Broadford on Saturday night. These matches will decide who we meet in the quarter finals.

Senior Football
Sean Finns Senior Footballers continue training and are awaiting their next fixture with 5 league wins from 5 outing to their name while in the Championship they have won one and lost one in their opening two matches.
In the league we will be playing away against Ballysteen next week on a date to be fixed and Hospital/Herbertstown on Tuesday 22nd in the Bog Garden. Meanwhile preparations are going well for our next championship game against St Patricks to be fixed for weekend of 10th August.

Junior-B Football.
The Junior B's are also awaiting their next fixture after losing their opening match to Knockaderry. Our next game is this Saturday 19th July against St Senans in Askeaton at 7pm.

Minor Hurling
After 3 games we have 4 points. We received a walk-over from St Patricks and beat Bruree. Then last Saturday we made the trip to Knockainey but were unfortunately beaten. We now host Kileedy this Friday evening in the Bog Garden at 8pm. We have plenty of games in the pipeline and the management and players, under the guidance of Jerry Molyneaux are all set for action.

Scorching day in Pairc Ui Caoimh
A lot of members & supporters made the trip to cork last Sunday to support the Limerick Hurlers in the Munster finals.. Demand for tickets was high but I think that everyone got a ticket in the end. The minors seemed the better team for most of the game but were lucky in the end to come away with a draw. The seniors were beaten by 2 goals. The saying that "Goals win matches" proving to be very true in the end.
We had a representative on the pitch for the Primary games at half time in t senior match. It was great to see Aaron Hogan representing St Josephs Boys National School on the Limerick Primary game team. Aaron enjoyed the day and had a quiet word with JP McManus as well..

Club Fund-raiser - "Match the Time of First Goal and win €500"
We held a fundraiser based around the time of the first goal in the Munster Senior Hurling Final. Tickets were for sale from our players. The goal was scored at 53 minutes and 44 seconds. The holder of this ticket can claim the jackpot, €500, by contacting the numbers at the back of the ticket within 30 days. We await the call.

All Ireland Quarter Finals - Double Header in Thurles
It's off to Semple the weekend after next for the quarter finals in a double-header programme. Limerick will play the winners of Waterford/Wexford while Tipperary will play Dublin in the 2nd quarter final. It is going to be an all-ticket affair and they will be in demand. Any members looking for a ticket should contact the club secretary (086-8835425) by text with your order before Sunday 20th July.

Scrap Metal
There's an old saying that says "It's an ill wind that blows no good". Maybe the storms of the spring have increased the possibility of scrap metal in the area. We would like take this opportunity to remind our friends and supporters that the club has an on-going scrap metal collection operation in place. Contact James O'Connor or any committee member if you have anything to donate. Collection can be arranged if necessary.
