Limerick Camogie notes

April 15, 2014
A Busy week ahead for Limerick Camogie

Limerick Camogie are in action on three fronts in what promises to be a very exciting week of inter-county action.
First up are the Intermediate team who are meet Clare in the Division 1 play-off in Clonlara on Wednesday. Only two points separated the teams when they met in the group stages in Kilmallock. The Banner women edged that encounter by 0-10 to 0-8. Clare go into the match knowing a win will see them through to the semi-final having beaten Galway by 1-10 to 0-8 in the first play-off match. Joe Quaid's charges have performed excellently in their first season back in the top flight and know a win or draw will set up a re-match with All-Ireland champions Galway who they beat in the group stages by 2-10 to 1-9.
Limerick's Junior team are also in action as they face Tyrone in Division 4 final in Edenderry at 2pm on Sunday. Ger Curtin's team have been in impressive form in the league so far with three wins out of four. Limerick beat Tyrone by 5-5 to 2-7 when the two sides met back in February and whereas Limerick will be favourites to win through to the Tyrone will not be taken for granted as the Red Hand County have put together some impressive results since then.
The Minors are also in action as they face Galway in the All-Ireland Semi-Final in Corrofin on Saturday. Limerick managed by Willie Banks have been impressive in the championship so far winning all their matches so far and finishing top of Group 2. Their opponents Galway finished level on points in Group 1 with Tipperary but qualified in second place as Tipperary had won the head to head.
