Limerick manager Brian Ryan insists his players won't be burdened by the favourites' tag in tonight's Munster MHC opener against Tipperary.

Boasting seven survivors from the team that claimed the county's first provincial title in the grade since 1984 last summer, the Treaty are strongly fancied to repeat last year's victory over Tipp at the Gaelic Grounds and set up a semi-final date with Cork at the end of June.

But Ryan stressed to the Limerick Leader website: "There is no room for complacency - from a player or a management point of view we are always striving to improve.

"Our preparations have gone reasonably well - we had three Limerick colleges progress which was great, but it did hinder us a little.

"We have done our homework and know that they have quite a few changes from the U16s (that beat Tipp) two years ago. We know they have done a lot of work and played a lot of games and of course they will come here seeking some revenge for last year."
