St. Patrick's G.A.A. Club Notes

April 08, 2014
Niall Cross Memorial Cup:

On Saturday last our annual 5 a side hurling tournament took place in Rhebogue. The 37 boys and girls that turned up to play served up a great display of hurling. Over the course of some very keenly contested games, the levels of skill and determination shown would have graced any tournament. By the time all matches had been completed, it was the Gaels captained by Sean Mortell that were victorious in the JJ Kennelly Shield final. In the Niall Cross Memorial cup final it was the Crusaders captained by Diarmuid Hegarty that were deserved winners. Overall the future looks bright for St Patricks on the hurling field. Many thanks to all players, parents and coaches for making the tournament such a success. Many thanks to our club sponsors for their continued support of the club. Without JJ Kennelly and Sons, Limerick GAA, Michael McNamara, Eamon Phelan and David Schnur and Associates our underage club would not be able to put on tournaments like this. Many thanks to Jack Greenwood and Rian O Dwyer for refereeing the matches.
