Galbally club notes

October 01, 2019

The Galbally Minor Footballers were beaten after extra time in an enthralling and absorbing County Final on Saturday last by 3-15 to 0-15. In testing weather conditions, they gave their all, and were unlucky to lose Peter Morrissey, Shane Hanrahan and Cathal O’Mahony to injury. Sometimes a defeat, while disappointing, can be an influential milestone in the development of players, and with only four players overage, the bulk of the squad can aim to go one better in 2020. The team was Dylan O’Sullivan, Cathal O’Mahony, Brian Heavey, Robert Sampson, Jack O’Reilly, Ciaran Sheehan, Michael O’Donnell, Peter O’Dwyer, Eoin McGrath, Josh Dineen, Eoin O’Mahony, Paddy Kennedy, Patrick McGrath, Shane Hanrahan, Jordan Dineen. Subs: Owen O’Sullivan for Shane Hanrahan, Conor Finn for Patrick McGrath, Adam Sheehan for Cathal O’Mahony, Kevin Cooke, Ciaran Beston, Nathan O’Mahony, Jack O’Keeffe, Niall O’Dwyer, Peter Morrissey. Management: Liam O’Dwyer, PJ Sullivan, James Ryan, Gary McCarthy

Galbally GAA recommenced the popular and thought provoking Last Man Standing competition last weekend. We would like to thank all those who have participated. Galbally GAA will also be running Lip-Sync later this year and if anyone is interested in participating, please contact any club officer. Galbally GAA would like to thank Aherlow House Hotel and John Hickey in particular for their generous sponsorship of underage GAA Jerseys.

Well done to Galbally GAA Life President Jim Clancy on winning €100 in the Limerick GAA Development draw. The Latest Split the Pot Winner was James Cummins who was the lucky winner of €353. Next Draw is in The Welcome Inn on Saturday Night 5th October.
