Munster Senior Football Championship:

Heartiest congratulations to our own Darragh Treacy and Sean McSweeney who played vital roles for the Limerick senior footballers who saw off the challenge of Tipperary on Saturday evening last in Thurles. Following on from a challenging National League Division 4 campaign they put in an outstanding attacking performance against a division two side who had been in the All Ireland semi final in 2016. Saturday’s win was a huge morale boost for football in the county at the moment and can hopefully inspire a revival throughout the ranks of all our teams. Following Saturday’s win Limerick now advance to the Munster semi final on June 1 in Pairc Ui Rinn at 7pm where the home side Cork will be our opponents.

Munster Senior Hurling Championship:

Limerick senior hurlers begin their quest for Munster championship success this Sunday in the Gaelic Grounds when they welcome the rebels, Cork to the Ennis Road In round 2. Cork will undoubtedly be hurting from their round 1 defeat to Tipperary and will be looking to get back on track against the All Ireland champions who they will have no fear of having beaten limerick in the Gaelic Grounds earlier this year in the National League. Tickets for Sunday’s game are still available and can be purchased online at gaa.ie and at participating Centra and SuperValue shops.
