St Manchan's manager Padraic Davis has hailed his charges following their under-21 A football championship final win.

They defeated Fenagh-Gortletteragh in the delayed final after off field issues threatened to decide the game.

However, Davis was pleased that the game was won on the field as he feels the history books will show that now.

"We were never going to have it the other way," Davis stressed to the Leitrim Observer. "We would never want to see that becoming an option where Cups are handed out in the boardroom.

"I'm sure Fenagh Gortletteragh would be the very same, they wouldn't want to be remembered as paper champions."
