Leitrim manager Shane Ward has implored the importance of a win against Waterford on his players.

The Connacht side were left frustrated after their narrow defeat to Wexford last weekend and Ward is keen to get some points on the board this weekend.

Speaking to the Leitrim Observer, Ward stressed that they have to make the most of playing at home.

"Yeah, of course, you want to get up and running in the first two games and that is our ambition, you want to win the game. We're at home in Pairc Sean and ultimately that is what we are going to do."
