Ballinamore club notes

June 30, 2015

Well done
Well done to our club players who represented the County over the weekend. Unfortunately for our seniors, Shane & Matty, minors Dónal, Peter, Niall and Darren it was to end in defeat despite their hard work and commitment. This is great experience for the lads to represent their county at this level and hopefully they will have many more outings representing Leitrim in the future. Special mention to the Leitrim ladies including our own Sarah McLoughlin and Róisín McHugh who won their match against Roscommon. We wish them all the best in their next match again Sligo. Leitrim Abú!

Under 14s
Well done to our under 14 panel who travelled to Feile Peil na nÓg in Wexford last weekend. The lads competed well winning 2 games before eventually losing out in the cup quarter final to a strong Strokestown team. Overall it was a great experience for the team and lots of new friends were made in our host club of Oulart The Ballagh. Thanks to the management team of Adrian Smith and Paul McLoughlin and all the mentors and parents that travelled and helped make it a great success.

The panel who travelled was; Michael McKiernan, Seamus Wisely, Tom Prior, James Honeyman, James Creamer, Paul Moran, Euan McManus, Eddie Coyle, Kuba Kaminski, Senan Harte, Patrick Wrynn, Dillon Beirne, Sean Christy, Ryan Morris, Aaron McBrien, and Cillian Murphy.

Comhbhrón
All at Ballinamore Sean O Heslin's would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Anselm Reynolds, Fenagh, who passed away at the weekend. Anselm held many positions on both the minor and senior boards in Leitrim totalling 23 years as an officer of Leitrim GAA. Go ndéana Dia trócaire air.

We would also like to pass on our sympathies to the Kelly & McGoldrick families on the death of Maureen Kelly (formally McGoldrick), Drumloman. Maureen's father, Tommy, was a star player for Ballinamore SOH in the 1930s. Go ndéana Dia trócaire uirthi.

Sympathies also extended to Maureen McHugh and family, Killaneen on the passing of Maureen's brother Liam Cornyn of Ardsley, New York. Go ndéana Dia trócaire air.
Tommy 'Spike' McCormack
Well done again to Tommy McCormack who featured prominently in the news this week with a comprehensive interview he completed with The Journal recently. The direct link is available on our facebook page and via our website.

Minor Training
Minor training has commenced every Monday evening in the Park at 8pm. All welcome.

Kellogg's GAA Cúl camps
This year there are some exciting changes to the kit, with a stylish new half zip top and T-shirt replacing the original jersey, togs & socks. The backpack is still part of the new kit, while the cost of attending the camps remains the same as the last number of years. On-line registration is now available and we would encourage parents to use this method of registration if convenient as it greatly helps with assigning coaches etc to the camps. Standard application forms will be available through the schools from next week. The Kellogg's GAA Cúl camp in Ballinamore takes place w/c 6th July 2015.
