Sean Canning

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Anthony Canning and the Canning family on the death of his brother Sean in Edenderry last week. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh sé.

Scór na nÓg

We have three qualifiers for the Scór na nÓg County Final in two weeks time. Junior and Senior dancers and Instrumental Music are through. We thank Róisín Kennedy who has worked so hard with the dancers over the last few years. The Instrumental Music players are all pupils of Padraig Sweeney. We will have all the names of the children in next week's notes.

St Manchan's U 21

The Under 21 team will play St Brigid's in the Championship Semi-final on Sat next in Ballinamore. Support will be appreciated

Park Renaming

Preparations are under way for the opening and rededication of the Park on January 11th. Volunteers are asked to answer the call and make it a day to remember for Philly McGuinness and his family.

National GAA Draw

Tickets are on sale for €10 apiece for amazing prizes from any Club officer. All money taken in goes to the Club, prizes supplied by Croke Park.

Gery Bohan's Memory Lane

This week we go back to June 1972 and to what was an "Historic" match between Mohill and Annaduff in the first round of the newly inaugurated Undr 21 Championship. This was our first ever game in this grade. The match was played in Carrick with Annaduff winning by 5-8 to 3-5. Our best players on the day were Tom Melia, padraig Keegan (Still Under 16), Kevin Britton, John Gordon, Brian Gordon, John Baxter, John Murphy, Martin Prendergast, and PJ Reynolds. The lineout was as follows. Kevin Britton, Gerry Moran, Tom Melia, Padraig Keegan, Harry McCrann, John Gordon, John Baxter, John Murphy, John Dunleavy, Brian Gordon, Martin Prendergast, PJ Reynolds, Gerry McCrann. The team contained a fair sprinkling of Minors, namely Kevin Britton, Gerry Moran, John Gordon, John Murphy, Martin Prendergast, PJ Reynolds, Gerry McCrann and Padraig Keegan who was still eligible for Under 16 in 72, while Murphy, Prendergast, Britton and Moran were all still minors in 1973
