Ballinamore club notes

October 07, 2014

Go raibh maith agaibh
Everyone at Sean O'Heslin's would like to thank all the players and management for putting everything out there to try and win this years' intermediate championship final. We would like to thank you for the supreme effort you have put in this year, the hard work, the time from your families and sacrifices you have made to try and win this years' final. There have been many highs and a few lows this year with some exceptional football played over the course of this years' championship. This was not our day and we did not gain the hoped for victory that the team had tried so hard to give us but unfortunately that's football. There will always be a winner and a loser. Credit must go to Dromahair, a highly experienced team playing their third final in this competition in the last 9 years and their experience shone through.
We must not forget that ours is a young team with an average age of 23. We have 15 players that are 20 and under. There will be many finals ahead for them in the future. and hopefully the disappointment the players and management are feeling can be a spur to push them on to go one step further next year. Every game adds experience and the experience of this defeat will make the players stronger next year.
This young team and their management should hold their heads high. They have served their club and town well and they should be proud of what they have achieved so far. On behalf of everyone at the club we would also like to thank all our supporters who cheered us on this year. It was great to see all the flags, banners and bunting that were hung throughout the town. You have done us proud also. Thanks of also course to all our sponsors. A special thanks to Gay Prior who sponsored the teams training gear and his great hospitality.
SOH Abú!!
Get well soon
Everyone at the club wishes Andrew Burns a speedy recovery from the injury he sustained during Sunday's final.
