CLOONE GAA NOTES
On Saturday morning last we had a very successful blitz tournament in the park when we hosted under 8 and under 10 teams from Mohill and Gortletteragh. Many thanks to the parents mentors, coaches and to all involved in making the even such a success.
Div 2 League.
On Tuesday evening we hosted Bornacoola in our deferred league game and were brought down to earth by a strong Bornacoola team and defeated on a score line of 3 13 to 0 6.
SHORT GAME.
When you put Thunder Roll and Gaa Grounds together you immediately think of Garth Brooks in Croke Park, but not on this occasion, This was our div 2 game v Kiltubrid on Friday evening last, which had to be abandoned due a serious Thunder storm and torrential rain. The game was only 15 minutes on when Match Referee Jimmy Stenson used the most important attribute of a referee, common sense, when in the interest of Health and safety he brought the game to a halt with Cloone winning 0 3 to 0 2. A lot to said for the short game.
The game has been rescheduled for this Friday evening, same time same place.
LOTTO RESULTS
There was no Jackpot winner of our last Lotto draw, and the numbers drawn were, 2, 10, 14, and 21. Draw winners were as follows, € 50 Sarah Mulvey Cloone, € 20 Michelle Cashin Sonnaghmore Cloone, € 20 Seamus and Ann McGuire Aughakiltubrid Cloone, € 20 Jackie Brennan Cloone.

Training continues on the appointed evenings, and all players are asked to be present. Next Championship game is on Sat Aug 2nd when we take on Leitrim Gaels in Carrrigallen at 8 pm.
BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
On Sunday AUG 3rd in conjunction with the Bank Holiday Festival, we a host a sports day in the park.
On the day we will have blitz games, and various sports events.
Plans are being put in place to host a "Have a go day" in conjunction with this event. Have a go day is a Gaa National Gaa initiative where all families in the community are invited to the event and are given the opportunity to participate in the various disciplines in the family of GAA games.
It is hoped that we can provide the opportunity to the younger generation to participate in games of Rounders, Hurling etc that they may not have ever participated in before.
It promises to be a huge event and based on the success of last years, it is an event not to be missed.
