The game got off to a great start as St Peregrines took an early lead with a well taken goal from a quick thinking Helena Reddy. Their dream start was confirmed with a second goal after just 6 minutes of play as they lead 2-01 to a point. The spectators were treated then to a wonderful opening half as the home side put on their finest display of the year to date. The Peregrines ladies were in great form and their flowing attacking football left them 10 points to good at the half time whistle. The second half saw the Tallaght ladies stage a comeback as they rallied for a 13 minute spell to narrow the gap to just 4 points, however a final goal from the Peregrines Ladies saw them safely over the line on a scoreline of 4-06 to 1-10 The win moves St Peregrines within 4 points of the top of the Division 2 league with a game at hand & guarantees their Division 2 status for next year. The club is actively looking to add more more ladies of all ages to the panel for both this year and next year and anyone interested in playing Ladies football can contact St Peregrines by clicking on the club website http://www.cnp.ie/index.php/ladies/football The St Peregrines ladies would like to wish teammates Louise Kidd and Emma Travers the very best of luck in the Ladies All Ireland final StPeregrines (Dublin) - Posts: 15 - 03/09/2010 12:56:06 764286 Link 0 0 |
