Kilkenny have pulled out of the Leinster MFC following last weekend's 71-point hammering at the hands of Wexford.

The young Cats made the headlines for all the wrong reasons in Nowlan Park last Saturday when they finished on the wrong end of a 17-20 to 0-0 scoreline.

They were due to face the winners of Carlow versus Laois in the qualifier series but the Irish Independent reports that the Kilkenny Management Committee have decided that they won't be fulfilling that fixture following consultations with team management.
