A junior club manager in Kildare has excellently summed up what it takes to manage a side.

Milltown manager Declan Brennan was conducting an interview with the Kildare Nationalist when he was asked about being a manager.

Brennan was speaking after his side had defeated Rathcoffey in the Kildare junior football championship semi-final.

And he stated that any manager that says he enjoys the position is not telling the truth.

"You don't get time to enjoy it," stressed Brennan. "I love it but it's not enjoyable.

"If a manager tells you it's enjoyable on the line he's either a liar or he's not the full shilling, but I love being involved with the lads."

A lot of club and county managers around the county will certainly agree with Brennan's sentiments!
